-
Diverse Leadership Representation
Ensure women are present in your leadership! Whether you are part of the e-board or a Chapter Leader at your campus, make sure that women are included in the decision-making process for your Brigade. Make your leadership team as diverse as possible, it will not only bring different perspectives to the table, but it would make other volunteers feel represented.
-
Collaboration with Women's Organizations
Partner with local organizations to learn a diverse perspective of women's health and economic issues. You will be able to understand different points of view of what could be considered a challenge to women in different regions, socio-economic status and lifestyles.
-
Encourage Cultural Sensitivity Training
Promote cultural sensitivity training before your brigade, to understand how different cultural approach different challenges. While a certain practice might be obvious for some, cultural context affect decision-making and lifestyles overall. Explore how you can engage in a certain topic while taking into consideration the context of WHO you are engaging with.
-
Promote Diverse Female Role Models
Highlight stories and achievements of Healthcare professionals, local role models, and past volunteers. Aim to not only break gender barriers in certain workspaces, but also aim to inspire more diversity within those roles!
-
Continue Inspiring Inclusion
Celebrating Women's day is not just for today! "When women aren't present, we must ask: "If not, why not?"". Continue to inspire others for a more equal world, it's not an individual job, but a collaborative effort. Encourage other to take action every day too!
