We are now accepting applications for the Law Program Advisor positions in Panama. The position is available now and we are looking to fill the position as soon as possible! The position is at least a 17 month commitment until August 2013. Applications are due March 15. As the link between the Program Lead, Chapter Leaders, volunteers, and communities Global Brigades supports, the Law Program Advisor plays a key role in the development of Global Brigades. The Law Program Advisor is the central contact for all Chapter leaders and will guide them through the entire process of coordinating logistics and preparing for the brigade throughout the year. In addition, the Advisor will play a key role working with the Program’s team to prepare for the upcoming brigades each season and assist with gathering student, program and community data.

From a programming perspective, the Advisor is responsible for understanding, contributing to and building awareness about Global Brigades’ holistic model and its ability to address the needs in the rural communities of Honduras, Panama and Ghana.

From a chapter development perspective, the Advisor is responsible for remaining in contact with a set number of chapters in a particular region of the US, Canada or the UK relating to their specific program. He/she is the most pivotal point of contact for Chapter Presidents to maintain chapter leadership, recruitment, fundraising, successful brigade preparation and the sustainability of the chapter on campus. In addition, the Program Advisor will be responsible for securing travel arrangements for the Chapters to which he/she is assigned. Travel coordination involves maintaining a strong level of communication with the In-Country logistics, the travel agency and accounting teams to ensure smooth Brigade preparation.

We encourage past brigaders who have a strong understanding of the mission and vision of the organization and have experience in club administration, club leadership and brigade preparation to apply. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working individuals who are passionate about the mission of the organization and will be a good fit for the team. Applicants should have exceptional organizational and leadership skills, a team-player attitude and ability to be flexible.

The time commitment for each position is a minimum of 15 months and training will take place upon arrival to the country.

Compensation & Benefits:

All Program Advisor Interns will be provided with the following:

1. Room and board

2. Monthly stipend

3. Cellular phone

4. Emergency medical insurance

Flights to and from Panama cannot be covered by Global Brigades.
