Along with the rest of the world, we became pretty accustomed to adapting to change in 2020. In 2021, we continued to welcome change and adapt amidst uncertainty. However, what makes Global Brigades, Global Brigades remained the same.

January
Lake Erie College Physician Assistant student volunteers kicked off 2021 with a Honduras Medical TeleBrigade.
February
We hosted our favorite week of the year - GB Week! We celebrated our impact in 2020, heard from inspiring speakers like Radhika Prabhu (Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary and Executive Director of the U.S.-Pakistan Women's Council) and collaborated during informational sessions and workshops.
March
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine students kicked off our first-ever Medical TeleBrigade in Ghana.
April
Marquette University GB Chapter Leader, Cassie Liably, was featured in an Authority Magazine article that spotlighted her work with GB. Way to go, Cassie!
May
The GB polyclinic in Athens, Greece welcomed its first patients on May 10th.
June
We welcomed back in-person Medical Brigades! The University of Oklahoma's Medical Chapter and the NY-VT Nurses Unite Chapter were among the first to join us in Honduras.
July
GB Greece's Athens polyclinic hosted its first in-person Medical Brigade alongside University of Oklahoma student volunteers.
August
GB Ghana's pharmacy officially commenced its operations.
September
After a whirlwind year and a half, our GB staff members took well-deserved time to refresh and recharge before the upcoming fall semester during our "GBreak".
October
We received recognition for our community banks programming at the UN Good Practices of the Sustainable Development Goals Seal award ceremony in Panama.
November
We announced our all-new International Medical TeleBrigade that offers the opportunity for volunteers to virtually experience all 3 GB clinics in Ghana, Greece, and Honduras.
December
GB's Panama and Eskala team presented at the VII annual Community Bank Summit at the Panama Canal training center, making it our largest event to-date with over 170 caja members representing 104 community banks.
All-in-all, it's been a pretty big year at Global Brigades, and we couldn't do it without YOU! Thank you to our dedicated international and local staff, volunteers, partner community members, donors, and everyone that helped make 2021 possible. See you in 2022!
