If you are still looking for an enriching leadership opportunity this summer, the University of Washington Bothell is offering a Social Enterprise Leadership Certificate that will make for a great resume builder for students interested in working in the nonprofit or social business sector. One of the co-founders of Global Brigades has been working with other international nonprofit leaders to develop a three month accelerated program for social entrepreneurs and students interested in getting more experience in the field. We have been assured, that based on your previous experience with Global Brigades you will be a very competitive candidate if you apply. In addition, as a past Global Brigades volunteer, if you are accepted you will be offered a unique internship with Global Brigades that is based in Seattle during the duration of the program. Although the program is offered by the Univ of Washington Bothell Business School,
it is open to students from all majors and students enrolled at other universities.
Classes will be held at the
Eastside leadership Center in Bellevue, WA and will run from
June 19 – September 14, 2012. However, if you are on the semester system and only available May-August, please apply anyways and indicate that preference in your letter. If there is enough demand, they may offer another session.
