1. Become a Global Citizen and Attend the Global Festival: The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is partnering with the Global Poverty Project to launch Global Citizen – an online movement against extreme poverty. This platform connects the most powerful and innovative organizations who are creating important, sustainable change for the world’s poor. By becoming a Global Citizen, you can enter to win two free tickets to the Global Festival concert on September 29 in Central Park featuring Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, and K’naan. UNICEF Ambassador Selena Gomez will also be participating in the Global Festival. You can enter to meet Selena and have your photo taken with her. Just sign the petition on the U.S. Fund for UNICEF partner page to enter.
2. Join UNICEF’s brand new UNICEF Action Center! The UNICEF Action Center is an online community that provides online resources, tools and social sharing features to communicate with UNICEF supporters around the country. After volunteers log-in, they can customize their UNICEF interest areas by “joining” our different clubs and campaigns and connect with other like-minded volunteers. To learn more about the UNICEF Action Center features, view this quick instructional video.
3.Attend a UNICEF Student Summit: For a few of your most engaged groups or students we would like to extend an invite to our UNICEF Student Summits that will take place this Fall in the following cities: Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. These events will provide UNICEF High School and UNICEF Campus Initiative Club members the opportunity to attend workshops co-led by students and professionals, panel discussions, and review resources and strategic direction of UNICEF’s clubs and programs. For more information on the UNICEF Student Summits or to register visit the new UNICEF Action Center and logon! Please have students reach out to me at tsadhoo@unicefusa.org if they have questions.
