On February 8th, Global Brigades and the community of Buena Vista in Honduras celebrated the inauguration of their new community-wide water system! The entire community, along with members from the local municipality and Global Brigades staff, came out to celebrate. Thank you to the the Water Council of Buena Vista, community plumbers, and the community work groups that worked tirelessly with Water Brigades staff and with the support of Portland Global Initiatives, DHL Honduras, Water Brigade Summer Interns, and Wake Forest and University of Maryland Medical Brigades volunteers for making this possible. Because of your efforts, we are proud to report that the completed water project now carries a sufficient supply of treated water to 131 homes in Buena Vista, impacting over 650 people!
