Global Brigades Panama is going through some big and exciting changes this year, and we want to keep you in the loop on our growth. As brigade numbers rise, the programs in Panama can expand the depth of services and the number of communities we are able to work with. However, we can not physically accommodate this growth without building additional lodging facilities in our region of focus.
After years of using other organization’s facilities to house brigade volunteers, it is high time for Global Brigades Panama to have a compound of our very own. This last August, we broke ground on the new facility and it is expected to be completed in April of 2013! The new compound was designed by Global Brigades very own Gabriela Valencia and Hector Saavedra. Gabriela, the Executive Director of GB Panama, and her husband Hector spent months designing and perfecting the layout of the new compound, and can not wait to see it in use as soon as possible!
