Global Brigades is excited to announce its new partnership with One Acre Fund, an innovative social enterprise serving 150,000 subsistence farm families in East Africa. One Acre Fund’s Campus Outreach Initiative is designed to offer career guidance to official Global Brigades Members from chapters across the country to help them transform their Global Brigades experience into a meaningful career.

One Acre Fund will offer an insider’s view of careers in international development and social entrepreneurship. During these interactive in-person or virtual presentations, One Acre Fund senior staffers will discuss different career paths, how to decide which path is right for you, what you can do as an undergrad to prepare for your career, and answer your questions about how to get that first job out of college.

Want to harness your members’ talent to generate lasting impact in the developing world? Join One Acre Fund for a Global Brigades chapter presidents’ call on October 9 at 2 p.m. Eastern or October 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Presidents will learn more about One Acre Fund, the Campus Outreach Initiative, and how to plan a career guidance presentation on their campus.

About One Acre Fund
One Acre Fund is a start-up NGO in Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi that invests in farmers to generate a permanent gain in farm income. We provide 150,000 farmers with a “market bundle” that includes education, finance, seed and fertilizer, and market access. Our program is proven impactful – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure more than 100% average gain in farm income per acre. Our approach has won widespread validation, winning grants from the highly competitive Echoing Green and Skoll Foundations, and the global Financial Times/IFC award for “basic needs financing” in 2010 and 2011.
