If just 10% of us donate $5 a month, we would have $72,000 to assist Central American villages that we support… With an average daily income of just $2 we can change a lot of lives!
Whether or not you decide to donate this year, we want to thank you! Be it through participating in a brigade or donating to one, you made 2009 our most successful year by far! This year, more than 4,000 volunteers traveled to Central America to participate in our skill-based brigades, impacting more than 70,000 beneficiaries in under resourced communities.
We treated more than 60,000 patients with primary healthcare, developed three large-scale infrastructure projects providing clean drinking water to hundreds of households, built nearly a thousand concrete floors, eco-stoves, water storage units and latrines to prevent communicable diseases, designed and constructed an entire eco-tourist lodge, consulted and provided capital investment of more than $30,000 to 30 under resourced microenterprises, reforested hundreds of trees in environmental degraded land, and are working the legal systems to facilitate land rights for dozens of indigenous families. For all the critics that say you can’t get anything done in a week… not bad, huh?
And the cornerstone of this success is you. You are the essence of the movement. For that, we are so appreciative and thankful. Please take our humble ask of $5 a month as a way to simply stay connected with us, that the program that you directly contributed is still a presence in your life.
