Investigating Impact in Ghana

The Public Health Team in Ghana has been working hard in conjunction with both the Water and Medical Teams to conduct follow-up surveys on the four household latrines that are currently in service in Srafa Aboano! The purpose of these surveys is to investigate the impact of the Household latrines, as well as learn more about the use and up-keep. We can also assess family satisfaction.

Furthermore, this week the Public Health team is conducting initial surveys to gain an understanding of households in the community with no access to latrines that are ready to financially commit to ending open defecation and improving their family’s hygiene and sanitation! These surveys are vital to ensure Global Brigades’ understanding of the current situation andoutlook on individual and community-wide ending of open defecation.
