“I recently worked with a local nonprofit in Rochester, MI to launch their first annual free pediatric clinic for medicaid and uninsured children. The Director of the nonprofit and I collaborated together; I was able to contribute the knowledge I gained from the mobile medical/dental unit in rural Honduras, and apply it to my local community in Michigan.
I translated the skills and knowledge I gained from the brigade to help my local community! The clinic helped over 380 children receive medical and dental treatment, as well as school supplies and clothing.
